Annual Braces and Basketball Holiday Toy Drive Kicks Off

Lexington, Kentucky (November 2, 2023) - Now through Thanksgiving, local orthodontist White, Greer & Maggard Orthodontics, invites its patients and members of the community to help give back. Braces & Basketball Holiday Toy Drive is in its second year of raising money and collecting items for foster children served by Sunrise Children’s Services.

“We could think of no better partner than members of the basketball team to help us spread smiles this holiday season. Continuing the toy drive to serve our community further and brighten this time of year for the children of Sunrise Children’s Services was a no-brainer. We are excited for our patients and community members to join us in giving back through this initiative for the second year in a row,” says Dr. Brent Maggard.

Collected gifts will be presented to the children of Sunrise Children’s Services at a private event by members of the Kentucky Men’s Basketball team. Reed Sheppard, Walker Horn, Rob Dillingham, and Grant Darbyshire are all teaming up to help the cause by sharing information about the toy drive on their Instagram pages and will be delivering donated gifts during a special experience the children are likely never to forget.

When asked about the unique opportunity to take part in the toy drive, Dillingham says, “It’s so special to partner with White, Greer, and Maggard on this toy drive, along with Grant, Walker, & Reed. I know WGM does a ton for the community all over Kentucky, and I’m really excited to be a part of it this holiday season!”

For every toy donated from the Amazon Wish List and for every $20 monetarily donated to Sunrise Children’s Services through their website, which includes “Braces & Basketball” in the comments section, an entry will be made for the donor to win one of several unique Kentucky Men’s Basketball experiences. Experiences range from tickets to a home basketball game to playing one-on-one with a basketball player.
